Think of the 4 digit postcode field as an Australian specific postcode field. It's not applicable for overseas addresses or accounts, which are common in Australia as well, as many accounts/suppliers/customers for local users are overseas. In your case I would simply ignore that field or even remove it from the master account screens. There is plenty of space for the post or zip code on the standard address lines.
(The only reason we have it at all, is for the Australian postcode look-up feature. Otherwise, like most accounting packages, the zip or post code would have went on the standard address line.)
